The transaction was concluded on behalf of Azora European Hotel & Lodging, the newest pan-European hospitality fund launched by the Madrid-based European private equity real estate management.
Bluserena, which was founded in 1985 by Carlo Maresca SPA, operates a portfolio of 13 hotels, eight of which it owns. The hotels are located in popular Italian tourist regions such as Sardinia, Sicily, Apulia, Abruzzo, Piedmont, and Calabria.
The portfolio includes eleven 4* category hotels (villaggi) and two 5* category resorts with full board and all-inclusive offers totaling over 4,200 keys.
The agreement includes the purchase of the Bluserena operating platform, which will remain in Pescara (Abruzzo).
Azora intends to further improve the “Bluserena” brand by undertaking a €30 million investment program across its owned properties and by continuing to grow the firm in the Italian market through new hotel purchases as well as new leasing and management contracts.
