This is an evolution of theDJI Osmo Pocket As expected, DJI announced the release of its second generation mini-camera, preliminary information about which appeared the day before.
The camera that is an evolution of the DJI Osmo Pocket is called the DJI Pocket 2 (no Osmo). Despite its compact size and weighing only 117g, Pocket 2 has a larger sensor and wider lens than the Osmo Pocket. This has significantly improved the quality of photos and videos, according to DJI.
The 1 / 2.3 “format sensor has been replaced by the 1 / 1.7” format sensor. The sensor is paired with a new lens with an EGF 20 mm and an aperture of f / 1.8. In the standard mode, you can take pictures with a resolution of 16 megapixels, and by selecting the high-resolution mode – up to 64 megapixels. The camera can record 4K video at up to 60 fps and 100 Mbps. Compared to the original model, there is support for HDR and lossless digital zoom. It is 8x in high definition mode, and 4x in standard mode or when shooting Full HD video.
The manufacturer has worked to improve the sound subsystem. It now includes four microphones, and new features, including Directional Audio, SoundTrack and Audio Zoom, allow you to filter out extraneous noise and get a high-quality sound track even when the relative position of the camera and the sound source and the distance between them change.
New accessories are presented with the camera, including a charging case, a wireless microphone, a waterproof case, a more compact control wheel, an extension cable, a wide-angle lens attachment, a wireless module and a smartphone support system. All camera functions can be controlled using the free DJI Mimo smartphone app, available for Android and iOS.
DJI Pocket 2 is available in two bundles. The DJI Pocket 2 Kit with Mini Control Stick and Tripod Mount costs 300 CHF, while the DJI Pocket 2 Creator Combo Kit, which includes a Mini Control Stick, Tripod Mount, Wide Angle Attachment, Wireless Windscreen Microphone, Universal Grip and Mini Tripod, costs around 399 CHF.
