This new function is now available in the TCS app. It offers paid public parking spaces at around 700 locations in Switzerland, including in St. Gallen, Lucerne, Thun, Aarau, Geneva, Sion and Bellinzona. “Park & Pay” complements the other functions already available in the application and complements the mobility services of the TCS in Switzerland.

As the largest mobility club in Switzerland, the TCS constantly offers new solutions to meet the needs of its members and to improve the mobility of all road users. It has never been easier to find and pay for a parking space than with “Park & Pay“, a service integrated into the TCS app. This offer has been available to all TCS members since August and is free of charge for everyone in Switzerland. After registration, the parking spaces can be paid for using a smartphone.

The largest network of parking spaces in Switzerland

By integrating it into the existing applications, it is easy for users to use the “Park & Pay” app. In addition, the platform enables simple digital payment without a parking ticket. Payment is currently being made with three partners – Parkingpay, Sepp and e24 – two more partners will follow. In some cases it is possible to choose from several providers to pay for the parking space and thus to choose the cheapest tariff. There are currently over one hundred thousand paid public and P + R parking spaces throughout Switzerland on “Park & Pay”. The application is constantly being developed and continuously integrates new Swiss municipalities. An integration of parking garages is also planned in the future.

Extend the term with one click and only pay for the time used

The app shows the maximum possible parking time and notifies the user when the parking time expires. The user can extend the parking time – where permitted – or leave the parking space in good time so that no buses are risked. The extension of the parking time, which is only available in certain cities, can also be made directly via the smartphone, provided the maximum parking time is still available is not reached. If the user leaves the parking lot before the parking time has expired, he can also officially end the parking process. He then only pays for the effective period of use.

Traffic, routes, parking spaces and multifunctionality in a single application

The free TCS app already offers its users an integrated navigation service and access to road traffic information. Bernhard Bieri, Director of the TCS Club Unit:

” With the TCS app, we want to make it easier for road users to access alternative means of transport by offering them innovative and useful mobility services for everyday life “.

With the integration of “Park & Pay”, the TCS app makes it possible to drive to the desired address and to find parking spaces nearby. The TCS app also offers a route planner with which you can also call up the timetables of the nearby public transport. With just one app it is possible to travel all over Switzerland.
