Judge Philip Moore indicated that the majority of the money given to Dubai princess Hayi bint Al-Husseini, the half-sister of Jordan’s King Abdullah, is to protect her from the sheikh. He added that the princess’s only request is that security assurances be provided for her and her children. The judge also ordered the sheikh to pay her the value of the property she lost as a result of the divorce.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum is required to pay Haya 251.5 million pounds in a flat amount within three months, which she will use to maintain her residences in the United Kingdom. She feels that this is adequate recompense for the remaining jewels and racehorses in Dubai, and that it will also cover future security expenditures. Haya initially intended to sue her ex-husband for 1.4 billion pounds. During the hearing, the Sheikh’s lawyer, Nigel Dyer, informed the court that “her financial demands and the amount of compensation asked are extraordinary.”

The Sheikh will also contribute £ 3 million to the education of two children, 14-year-old Jalili and 9-year-old Zayed, as well as £ 9.6 million in arrears. In addition, he will spend 11.2 million pounds each year for the upkeep of children and their safety as adults. Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum will deposit a commitment of 290 million pounds as a guarantee for the fulfillment of financial obligations, which will be stored in a bank account.
