Today, November 5, 2020, the Matterhorn ski paradise was once again honored with the title of best ski area in the Alps. The Best Ski Resort Report is the Alps’ largest independent survey of guest satisfaction. It is carried out every two years. After his two total victories in 2014 and 2016, as well as a second place in 2018, Zermatt is once again on the top of the podium.
During the 2019/2020 winter season, nearly 40,000 sportsmen and women in the snow were interviewed in 55 ski areas chosen from among the best. Most of the questions were based on 20 satisfaction criteria, including the size of the area, the quality of the slopes and the atmosphere of the place. With its victory in the eight categories Safety on the slopes, Atmosphere, Authenticity, Comfort, Exclusivity, Ski school, Nature, Amusement and entertainment, and with an overall score of 8.63 (on a scale of 1 to 10), the the international ski area of Zermatt – Cervinia is clearly in the lead. In addition to the Best Ski Resort 2020, a long-term comparison of guest satisfaction ratings between 2012 and 2020 was made. This study shows that the strategic axis of Zermatt is judicious because,
“We are very happy to have been awarded for the third time by the Best Ski Resort and to have received the title of big winner between 2012 and 2020. In particular because these frank evaluations come from our international visitors and attest that the Zermatt Bergbahnen AG’s investment strategy and policy goes in the right direction. We also see this trophy as an encouragement to continue investing in the quality of our transport services and facilities, such as the new Kumme gondola lift or the large Alpine X project ” , emphasizes Markus Hasler, CEO of Zermatt Bergbahnen AG.
The winter season 2020/2021 has already started
Sportsmen and women in the snow are already enjoying the conditions on the slopes. More than 26 kilometers of slopes in the ski area are open. And as soon as the snow conditions allow it, we will gradually open other slopes and facilities, so as to make the entire ski area available to visitors on November 28.
In order to offer safe and peaceful winter sports, Zermatt Bergbahnen AG has developed a comprehensive protection concept which has already been implemented for the glacier ski area during the summer season. The obligation to wear a mask remains valid for all lifts, stations and waiting areas during the 2020/2021 winter season. Cabins, cable cars, rooms open to the public, surfaces and objects used in common will also be regularly cleaned with great care. In order to counter the understandable hesitations in connection with the COVID situation, ZBAG has launched flexible cancellation conditions.
Choosing the right protective mask is not always easy
ZBAG started the production of a multifunctional protective mask with the house of ALLKOV. It can be easily slipped over a helmet and attaches to the ski goggles holder. When wearing a mask is prescribed, it suffices to pull it over the mouth and nose, while outside on the slopes, it protects the throat from the cold or acts as a protection for ski goggles at night, when returning home. Reusable, the Community mask fitted with a double membrane has successfully passed the tests necessary to meet the AFNOR S76-001 standard for community masks. ALLKOV masks will be available from mid-December at all points of sale, kiosks and at ZBAG’s Peakshop, but a pre-order is already possible on matterhornparadise.ch.
